HyperPDF is designed to work 100% on-device. Your documents are never uploaded to our servers. We never sell your data. We never build ad profiles. This policy explains exactly what we do — and don't — do with your information.
📋 Overview
HyperPDF ("we", "us", "our") is a PDF editing application for iOS developed and distributed via the Apple App Store. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the HyperPDF mobile application (the "App") available at hyperpdf.cloud.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the App.
📊 Data We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary to provide core app functionality and improve the user experience:
Crash Reports
Anonymous crash logs via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. No document content is included.
Usage Analytics
Aggregate feature usage events via Firebase Analytics (e.g., "annotation tool opened"). No document data.
Device Info
iOS version, device model, and app version — used for compatibility diagnostics only.
Push Token (Optional)
If you allow notifications, we receive a push token via Firebase Messaging to send you update alerts.
All collected data is anonymized and aggregated. We cannot identify you personally from this data.
🚫 Data We Never Collect
The following data is never collected, transmitted, or accessed by HyperPDF:
- The content of your PDF documents
- Your annotations, signatures, or drawings
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials
- Your precise location
- Photos from your library (beyond what you explicitly insert into a document)
- Your contacts, calendar, or health data
- Browsing history or data from other apps
📉 Analytics & Crash Reporting
We use Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to collect anonymous telemetry. Firebase may collect device identifiers as part of its standard SDK operation. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of analytics collection by disabling "Share Analytics" in your iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Firebase Remote Config is used to deliver app configuration updates without requiring a full App Store update.
🔗 Third-Party Services
HyperPDF uses the following third-party SDKs and services. Each is governed by its own privacy policy:
- Firebase (Google) — Analytics, Crashlytics, Messaging, Remote Config
- Alamofire / AlamofireImage — Networking library (no data sent to Alamofire servers)
- OpenAI SDK — Optional AI features (if you use AI-powered tools, your query may be sent to OpenAI's API; document content is only sent if you explicitly invoke an AI feature on it)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party for marketing purposes.
💾 Data Storage & Security
All your PDF files and annotations are stored locally on your device in the app's sandboxed Documents directory. HyperPDF does not have servers that store your documents.
Password-Protected Files
When you password-protect a PDF, the file is encrypted using AES-256 encryption via Apple's PDFKit framework. Your password is never stored or transmitted — it is used solely to encrypt and decrypt the file on-device.
ZIP Encryption
ZIP archives created with a password use AES-256 encryption. The password is entered by you and never leaves your device.
iCloud Sync
If you save files to iCloud Drive, those files are governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. HyperPDF does not control how iCloud handles your files.
👶 Children's Privacy
HyperPDF is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete such information.
⚖️ Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, most of these rights are automatically exercised — there is simply no personal data for us to hand over or delete. For analytics data, see the opt-out instructions in the Analytics section above.
🔄 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via an in-app notice or push notification (if you have enabled them).
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
